Dear visitors,
Welcome to the website www.myokarditida.cz,
My name is Jan Habásko and I am the founder and administrator of this web handbook designed for patients with diagnosis of myocarditis and their families and relatives. I am a student of 1st Medical School of Charles University in Prague and former student of Jan Neruda Grammar School in Prague in the Czech Republic and had myocarditis myself. Therefore I know your situation very well and also your feelings.
During my research about myocarditis on the Internet, I have discovered lots of medical articles, many of which are not a suitable resource for people who are not experienced in biology and medicine. On the contrary, they can be terrified by the number of medical terms and statistics. Or I have found websites with discussion by laymen, where the information could be formulated incorrectly. I did not find any website with intelligible and well-arranged information about myocarditis in Czech language – what is my disease, discussing what I should expect in the future and so on.
Of course, I wanted to get to know my disease as thoroughly as possible and therefore I have studied a huge amount of medical articles and books and after consultations with medical doctors and my relatives have decided to share my findings about myocarditis. To this end, I determined to create a handbook for other patients and their families. I will do my best to present everything as intelligible and clearly as possible covering issues such as what is myocarditis, what kind of treatments exist and other information associated with this disease.
Furthermore, I will present on these websites stories of other patients with myocarditis and news from existing and ongoing medical research. Furthermore, a section names What do the Doctors Say? is filled with interviews with experts from cardiology, immunology and imaging methods, who deal with the diagnostics and treatment of myocarditis.
Naturally, I did not create this project alone, and therefore I would like to express my thanks here to people who shielded and supported the projects and invested their free time in this project and controlled it professionally. My big thanks belong to these people:
